How it works
- Clone + install:
git clone https://github.com/okwithit9-debug/the-posting-tool, then follow the Setup guide. - Connect accounts: log in to the platforms you use on your own machine. Nothing is sent to us.
- Schedule & post: videos land in the posting inbox and go out across the platforms you use.
Setup is written for beginners. Use ChatGPT, Claude, or Grok with the Setup guide, that's the fastest path.
⚠ Business accounts required
Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest need a Business account (Instagram can also be Creator). Convert before you connect. Personal accounts will look broken; that's a platform limit, not a bug. If Instagram hides the Schedule content switch, the tool still posts now. Details: Setup guide → Business accounts.

What is The Posting Tool?
A free, open-source, self-hosted multi-platform poster. You drop a video and a caption file in the inbox, and it schedules or posts to X, Threads, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, and Instagram from your own machine.
Is it really free?
Yes. It is MIT licensed. There is no paid version, no subscription, and no account with us.
Where is the code?

Is Instagram included?
Yes. Instagram is one of the six supported platforms. It needs a Business or Creator account; Personal accounts cannot use the tool. If a Professional account is missing the Schedule content switch, the tool still posts now. See the Setup guide for the checkpoint.
Do TikTok and Pinterest need business accounts too?
Yes. Pinterest needs Business to schedule. TikTok needs Business for the link in bio if the account is new or under 1k followers. Convert before you connect.
How do I set this up if I'm not technical?
Ask the Grok Bot, or use ChatGPT, Claude, or Grok with the Setup guide.

Is this hosted SaaS?
No. You run the tool on your own machine (or your own host). You keep the accounts, and the code is yours to read and change.
