Posting Tool Instagram

Business or Creator before connect. Personal cannot use the tool. Look for Schedule content — if it is there, the tool can pick a time. If a Professional account is missing the switch, the tool still posts now. Same-day time scheduling is what ships when the switch is there; other dates may publish now.

What it posts

Posts from your inbox to an Instagram Professional account you own (Business preferred; Creator also works).

Who it is for

People who own an Instagram account, will convert it to Business (or Creator) and make it public before connect, and want to post from their own machine. Personal accounts cannot use the tool.

What you need before connect

  • Professional → Business or Creator. Make the account public. Personal cannot use the tool.
  • Look for the Schedule content switch. If it is there, the tool can pick a time. If it is missing on a Professional account, keep going — the tool still posts now.
  • Optional: a link-in-bio tool if you want several links in your profile.
  • Stay logged into that Business or Creator account in Chrome.
  • Project folder cloned from GitHub.
Personal account = stop. Convert to Business or Creator and make the account public first. If the account is already Professional and the Schedule content switch is missing, the tool still posts now. That is not a broken tool.

How you connect

Convert first and make the account public. Look for Schedule content. If it is missing on a Professional account, keep going. Then run the login helper and sign into that Business or Creator account:

python3 setup_playwright_logins.py

Checkpoint: Setup guide → Instagram.

Everyday use

Drop a video and a matching .json sidecar into inbox/ (same base name). Run ./posting_tool_go.command or python3 schedule_batch.py dispatch. Do not run two dispatches at once. Check posted/ or failed/ + screenshots.

Beginner walkthrough: Setup guide → Everyday use.

Limits / account-type warnings

  • Same-day time scheduling is what ships. Other dates may publish now (fallback).
  • If the time cannot be set, the tool publishes now rather than using Instagram’s default time.
  • If the Schedule content switch is missing on a Professional (Business or Creator) account: keep going. The tool still posts now. Instagram often hides the switch for days after convert. Do not open an issue only because the switch is missing.
